Upstate Veterinary Specialties (UVS) is a privately owned hospital offering 24/7 emergency/ critical care and board-certified specialty care to companion animals in New York State’s Capital District. Our services include Cardiology, Critical Care, Dermatology, Emergency, Urgent Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Radiology, Rehabilitation, and Surgery. We have an on-site and diverse leadership team and a full-service administrative department.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a Licensed Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This position collaborates with staff and clients to prepare patient medications and maintain inventory following federal, state, and local laws. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Receive prescription refill requests for clients who are present for an appointment. Verify that information is complete and accurate and ensure timely filling of the prescription.
- Perform inventory audits and purchasing of pharmacy supplies and medication.
- Maintain proper inventory levels to avoid stockout or expiration.
- Accurately count and fill the prescription as written by the doctor. Ensuring all aspects of the medication refill and instructions are accurate.
- Report controlled substances dispensed from the hospital using the PMP website.
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 8:00 am to 6:30 pm
